you know how i’m always bragging about my friends being cooler than yours? well, now i have proof. check out the trailer for the hilarious film “For A Good Time, Call…”, coming to theaters this fall!! that gorgeous brunette getting her phone sex on is my dear friend, Lauren Miller, who also wrote all those sexy words along with Katie Anne Naylon.

it looks good doesn’t it? you’re dying to see it aren’t you? well, good. do that. watch the trailer, fall in love, and share the crap out of this. then once it comes out, go see it three times. and have your friends do the same.

she’s a Rainbow.

this was a beautifully perfect tribute.

Kristen Wiig is one of the greats. not only is she a brilliant character actress and at times, impressionist, her physicality and comedic timing are among the best in the game. she’s made me laugh and cry, all with a simple look. she’s been a long-time favorite on the SNL stage but most recently with Bridesmaids and her quietly gut-wrenching performance in Friends With Kids, she’s shown her unbelievable range and bona fide acting chops. her unmeasurable contribution to SNL will be deeply missed but whatever is next for Wiig, i know it will be met by crazy amazing success and eager, loyal fans.

happy graduation, Kristen.

I know I’m supposed to say something snarky, but I love my job and I love the people I work with.

that’s what it’s all about.

this upcoming Sunday, i will come in from the sunshine or the grilling of something yummy to watch The Comedy Awards on Comedy Central. since it’s debut last year, it’s my favorite awards show, replacing the 11 minutes of the Golden Globes i allot myself and the last three awards of the Oscars and the every 3rd musical performance of the Grammy’s. okay, that’s a lie. i haven’t enjoyed the Grammys since MJ was winning.

if you’re also into funny, smart, sometimes sober, always deserving folks giving and getting awards for working really hard and most often-times not “making it” until they’re in their 30s, be sure to watch.

I remember seeing Kristen Wiig on her first episode of Saturday Night Live. I don’t remember the sketch, I just remember her. She was so confident and funny right out of the gate. You would have thought she had been on the show for years. She was instantly one of my all-time favorite cast members.
The same thing seems to have happened with the film Bridesmaids. It’s her first starring role, and she is fantastic — vulnerable, explosive and hilarious. Kristen, 38, was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance. Her first screenplay — insightful, brave, groundbreaking and also hilarious. Kristen and her wonderful partner Annie Mumolo are nominated for an Academy Award.
She never thought she was making a statement about women in comedy. Of course women in comedy have always been brilliant. Look at her old SNL castmates Amy Poehler, Rachel Dratch, Maya Rudolph and Tina Fey. And that is just the women on one show!
For her, it was just about making a movie she could be proud of, and she labored over it tirelessly for half a decade. I guess coming fast out of the gate requires years of hard work that nobody but me gets to see. I am the lucky one.

i’m covered in goosebumps.

i’m covered in goosebumps.

every girl is expected to have Caucasian blue eyes, full Spanish lips, a classic button nose, hairless Asian skin with a California tan, a Jamaican dance hall ass, long Swedish legs, small Japanese feet, the abs of a lesbian gym owner, the hips of a nine-year-old boy, the arms of Michelle Obama and doll tits. the person closest to actually achieving this look is Kim Kardashian, who, as we know, was made by Russian scientists to sabotage our athletes. everyone else is struggling.

Tina Fey

so, yea…today (and every day) i am thankful. but clearly, still struggling…

so pumped for BFF!

i have a feeling Queenetta (Daija Owens) is my new fave tv kid. sorry Luke (Nolan Gould), don’t take it personal. so far this show seems to have all required pieces:  sassy 9 yr old neighbor + scoops-obsessed boyfriend + girlfriends love that only someone who has watched her friend get her first brazilian would understand. (yes, that actually happened in my real life. entertaining and highly hilarious. recommended only for very close friends.)

everyone: watch this show! the series premiere is wednesday, april 4th at 8:30pm on nbc.

yay, Lennon! so happy for you!!!
